Now our customers can save even more time with an upgraded load capacity for the TubeLock® TTRS system, resulting in less equipment and fewer crane lifts.
The load capacity of Global Gravity’s TubeLock® TTRS system has been upgraded. The upgraded version makes you spend less time moving your drill pipes, casing and tubing from stock to drilling rig. Reduced lifts result in improved safety and earnings.
With a new type approval from DNV-GL in accordance with DNVGL-ST-0378 and NORSOK R-002 the Safe Working Load (SWL) has been upgraded by 50 percent to 9 tonnes. The new SWL saves pipe handling time because the number of lifts is reduced as more pipes are moved with each lift.
The type approval certificate also means less equipment is required for a number of tubular sizes, as you can use two instead of three frames to hold the pipes in place from 7” OD pipe and up – which means fewer handlings and a 33 percent less backload.
TubeLock® TTRS has been on the market for 9 years, and its focal point is safety and optimization of pipe handling. The new certification has been achieved by fine-tuning the safety calculations and all current lifting systems are now updated to the new SWL.
Patented System
TubeLock® TTRS is a patented, all-in-one pipe handling system which has been fully certified by DNV-GL to DNVGL-ST-0378 and NORSOK R-002 in sizes from 2 3/8” to 14”. The system allows a safe, systematic and optimised process.
TubeLock® TTRS makes handling safer and more structured with a unique and effective frame system for transporting and running pipe to and from the drilling rigs. It reduces the amount of risky manual work with drill pipes, casing and tubing, which are traditionally bundled together with steel wire rope to be shipped offshore.
With TubeLock® TTRS you get
- An efficient process and save time
- Safe handling of drill pipes, casing and tubing from shore to rig
- All loading and preparation are done on shore
- Maximised load capacity to streamline and minimise the number of lifts
- Optimised backload
Global Gravity rents Tubelock to its customers and have more than 2,500 units available in the global rental fleet. Currently in use with customers across five continents.
